When your spreadsheet has been downloaded to your PC (generally to the "Downloads" folder) you may wish to move it to a working folder for updating.
Do not change the file name or modify the fields on this spreadsheet as these are allocated by our system to ensure your data will load correctly.
Note:
Data will be accepted only on the original spreadsheet downloaded from the MHR RemData site. The MHR spreadsheet contains hidden data-codes which uniquely identify each client, and ensure that data is attributed only to the correct client. These codes also assist in monitoring data input, to ensure all data is received on time.
MHR gives no guarantee that data submitted on a spreadsheet other than the one provided by us will be accepted for analysis. While we will make every effort to load data received, where a client provides data on the incorrect spreadsheet, and it is not possible to load that data by the data input deadline, clients may be denied access to the results of the survey.
Edit data
Edit data to update each record.
Fieds which contain a droplist must be edited using the drop-list to select the required value. The values available are provided in the worksheets in the file.
Note that in this version of RemData the droplists contain "plain text labels" rather than numerical codes. These should be eaiser to selelct without reference to the "Code List" worksheet
This worksheet contains the records to be updated.
Note that the MHR spreadsheet is protected to preserve data integrity, and it is not possible to insert rows or columns to create formulae or to assist with sorting, or to delete rows (e.g for vacant or disestablished roles) by selecting a full row using the Row number on the left of the worksheet.
New records can be added by creating a new entry after the last entry in the worksheet.
As the spreadsheet is protected it is not possible to use Excel's "Insert row" command to insert a new record between existing records.
Delete a record by deleting the contents of the cells (i.e. select the range from B5:AD5 to select the contents; do not select the whole row by right clicking on the Row number) in the current record
The blank records will be ignored when the spreadsheet is uploaded for analysis.
Where it is necessary to sort records, copy all records to a separate spreadsheet, and sort and update them in that unprotected spreadsheet
Once the records are updated, copy the range that contains the data (e.g. A4:AD245)
Use the Paste values option to paste the updated data into Cell B4 on the original MHR spreadsheet.
Coding list for all Benefits and Survey data for which drop-lists are used to collect data.
As the data collected may vary from survey to survey details of these Benefits and other fields are not provided in this guide. Full details will be provided by MHR when data is requested for each survey.
